High Holiday Seat Information

Kesher Israel is pleased to continue offering seats for either both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur together or for each individual holiday.

Seats for all services must be purchased in advance. Seats in the shul will be assigned, and charts of seat locations will be posted in the shul.

Education and Shiurim

A Window on Old Washington: Rabbi Silverstone's High Holidays. Mondays, August 16, 23, and 30 following maariv. Join us for this three-week series taught by Rabbi Shafner as we prepare ourselves for the High Holidays through the inspiring wisdom of Rabbi Gedalia Silverstone (1871-1944), Kesher Israel’s first rabbi, and get a sense of what Orthodox life was like 100 years ago in DC, with its challenges and differences. Round-Robin Elul Learning. Sunday, August 29, 8:00pm. Come and participate in multiple classes, taught by Rabbi Shafner and community members, on Elul-themed topics! See here for details.

Shabbat Shuvah Drasha, "Early 20th Century American Rabbis on Teshuvah." Sunday, September 12, 8:00 pm on Zoom.   We will look at several very early 20th century American rabbis, their attempts to inspire the community towards teshuvah for the high holidays, and what we can learn about their era and our own repentance.

Community Events

Shmini Atzeret Mixed Drinks Sukkah Hop, Tuesday, September 28, 5:00 pm. Join young professionals as well as new and established members of the Kesher community for a mixer/21+ sukkah hop outdoors in a fun and casual setting. Registration required.

Babysitting & Youth Programming

We regret that this year we will be unable to provide babysitting or childcare services.

Lulav & Etrog Purchasing Information
