Sunday, May 15, 2016 7 Iyyar 5776

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Less than ten years after moving to Israel from the U.S., Rabbi Dov Lipman was given a mandate to try to make Israel better when he was elected as a member of the 19th Knesset. Join the Israel Action Center at the JCRC and Kesher Israel for a discussion and book signing with Maryland native and former Member of Knesset (MK), Rabbi Dov Lipman as he discusses his service in the parliament of the Jewish state, an institution he calls, “the greatest expression of our [Israel’s] independence and rebirth as a nation in our biblical homeland.” He will give a behind-the-scenes look at how the Knesset works, from his perspective as the first American born MK in thirty years.

Rabbi Lipman’s newest Book, “An ’American’ MK” will be available for purchase by cash/check for $15.

Please register at this link with the JCRC.

Rabbi Dov Lipman moved to Israel in July, 2004 and, less than nine years later, was elected to the nineteenth Knesset with the Yesh Atid party, making him the first American-born Knesset member in thirty years. He holds rabbinic ordination from Ner Israel Rabbinical College and a master’s in education from Johns Hopkins University. Rabbi Lipman rose to national and international fame for his role in combating religious extremism in his hometown of Bet Shemesh, where he lives with his wife and four children.
