In 1911 Rabbi Gedalia Silverstone (1871-1944) was Kesher Israel’s first rabbi and authored dozens of Hebrew scholarly books. In this series we will prepare ourselves for the high holidays through his inspiring wisdom, and get a sense of what Orthodox life was like 100 years ago in DC, with its challenges and differences.
