8:00 PM - 9:00 PMkesher.org/zoom

February is Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) and while it is really nice to have a dedicated time on the calendar to devote to specific topics, we Jewish disabled folks live this life every day.  This year has been different for everyone, including those with disabilities.  In this session, you will have the opportunity to learn about Yad HaChazakah, the Jewish Disability Empowerment Center and how we have pivoted to meet the unique challenges that COVID-19 has thrown our community from food insecurity to medical rationing.

Sheryl Grossman is a 45 year old Orthodox Jewish woman with a very rare condition, Bloom Syndrome.  She has spent over 25 years in the Disability Rights/Disability Justice space, with the last decade focusing on the intersections of Judaism and Disability.  She founded and has facilitated Bloom's Connect, the international support group for people with Bloom Syndrome since 1996 and is currently Board Chair for Yad HaChazakah, the Jewish Disability Empowerment Center.
