Join us as we gather for 2nd day Shavuot Lunch and Learn just a few blocks from the Shul—at the Westin Georgetown (2350 M Street NW in the Promenade Room). All are welcome!

Catered lunch following services (~12pm) will be followed by a talk from visiting scholar, Rabbi Nathaniel Helfgot on "Reading Ruth"

About our scholar: 

Rabbi Nathaniel (Nati) Helfgot was ordained by RIETS and holds an MA in Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of Yeshiva University. He is the Chair of the Department of Talmud and Rabbinics at SAR High School and rabbi of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Teaneck, NJ.  Previously, Rabbi Helfgot was the Chair of the Departments of Bible and Jewish Thought at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and before that, the Director of the Judaic Studies Curriculum at Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School for Girls. He has also taught at the Frisch School and Torah Academy of Bergen County.  Rabbi Helfgot has been a leader in the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA), The International Rabbinic Fellowship, and the Orthodox Caucus and Orthodox Forum sponsored by Yeshiva University.  He is the author of a number of volumes including Divrei Berakah U’Moed -Halakhic Essays on the Topics of Holidays and Blessings, and the editor of Community, Covenant and Commitment: Selected Letters and Communications of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik and The YCT Companion to the Book of Samuel. In addition, he has served as editor of several journals.  R. Helfgot lives in Teaneck, NJ with his wife, Rachel Brenner and their four children.
