Hebrew has many terms to describe "community."  Join Kesher member Andrew Jakabovics as we explore two of these words and reflect more deeply on their meaning for us in the age of COVID isolation and social/political protest. 

Andrew came to Kesher in 1999. He has served as a gabbai and ba'al koreh, and he has given many people's pulpits and taught many classes over the years, often focusing on the relationship between halakhah and the non-Jewish democratic state. In his day job, he heads the Policy Development & Research team at Enterprise Community Partners, an affordable housing nonprofit. He and Elanit (along with Hannah, Max, and Jodi) will miss seeing everyone in shul after their upcoming move to Kemp Mill.
