D25 Day of Service: Make a Meal for Fisher House

Thursday, December 25, 2014 3 Tevet 5775

9:30 AM - 1:00 PMKesher Israel

Kesher Israel will once again participate in the DCJCC Day of Service on December 25, preparing a holiday meal for the military families at Fisher House.

The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center.

The Kesher Israel volunteers will prepare a meal at Kesher Israel for residents of the Fisher House in Washington, DC, and then deliver the meal. Volunteers will divide into groups, assisting with the cooking and delivery of the meal. Children are invited to make greeting cards for the residents. Each year we have so much fun as we work together on this worthy cause.

RSVP here if you are interested in volunteering! If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark and Missy Isakowitz.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
