Rabbi Marc D. Angel is the Founder and Director of the Institute for Jewish Ideas and Ideals. He is the rabbi emeritus of Congregation Shearith Israel, the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, in New York City (founded 1654). He is the author and editor of 27 books and numerous articles.
